Chasing Your Dreams: Why You Should Never Give Up On Them

We always hear celebrities in interviews talk about how they never gave up on their dreams. Many of us have dreams that are never fulfilled for one reason or another. What is the difference between people who are living their dreams and people who are not? The people who are living their dreams did not give up on them. They simply kept going until they reached their goal.

Suppose you have a dream of being successful in the music business? You may have had some small successes but still haven’t reached the level where you can say, “I made it!” What if you decide to give up? This could be a big mistake because you may have been one song away from having a hit song. How would you know? How could you know? Honestly, there is really no way to know. If you are doing something you love, then you will do it whether you had a million dollars or not. You can never really know when you will cross that threshold and you will surely never know if you quit prematurely.

Thomas Edison was considered a failure by his peers because he consistently failed at creating the light bulb. He had failed 10,000 times before he finally got it right. He is quoted as saying, “I did not fail 10,000 times. I just found 10,000 ways that did not work.

How many times have failed on the way to living your dreams?

One of the hallmarks of people who are living their dream is they have a laser beam focus. What do I mean by this? This means they are not easily deterred and knocked off their path to success. They know what they want and they let nothing discourage them from making it a reality. They have written goals and they work on them every day. Even if they are not able to work on them physically, they are planning their next move to manifest their vision. This is called perseverance.

My advice to you is to never give up. If you goal is to run your own business, find out what it takes to be successful. Study successful people and use them as a guide to what is possible. There is someone out in this place we call Earth who has done what you are trying to do. Align yourself with other successful people and those who support your dream. Stay away from the naysayers and anyone who does not share your vision. You were created to do something that only you can do, the way you do it. Do not bury your talent. The world is waiting for what you have to give. Continue to chase your dreams because if you give up, you will never know how close you were to making a dream come true.
