I was flipping though the boob tube last night after a long day of work and I came across a classic scene.

I was right on time to see Queen Latifah be presented with the BET Honors Media Award. It was cool to see 3 awesome ladies present her with this award.

First was the beautiful and talented Taraji P. Henson. She was actually the presenter. She gave a nice speech and said some great things about Latifah.

Then Jasmine Sullivan sang a awesome tribute to Queen and I thought that was pretty cool.

I wasn't ready for the next artist though who is a Queen in her own way.

Yes, I'm talking about Patti Labelle. The one and only! She sang her hit song, "If Only You Knew" to Queen Latifah and it made me realize just how far Hiphop Kulture had progressed.

Now Patti is no stranger to working with Hiphop artists. She was probably one of the pioneering Soul singers to work with rappers. She worked with Big Daddy Kane on his "Prince of Darkness" album in the early 90's.

The fact is the Hiphop Kulture had been disregarded as the stepchild of the music industry for so many years by our elders.

"Its not going to last"
"Its a fad"
"Its not real music"

And so on...

To see Patti with all her grace showing so much love to Queen Latifah made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. And Patti was lookin' good too!!!

At the end she did one of her signature microphone tricks that make all of her performances classic.

So congratulations Queen Latifah for all of your accomplishments and being blessing by a legendary songstress like Patti Labelle.
